Pride
The Pride Centre is dedicated to providing and creating a safe and
supportive environment for members of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual,
Transgendered, Two-Spirited and Queer (GLBT2Q) community and their Allies on
campus. The Pride Centre offers individuals an opportunity to take an active
role in creating a healthy, involved, and fun community on campus.
In addition to providing a supportive space for dealing with GLBT2Q issues,
the Pride Centre acts as a resource library for materials on queer issues, a
liason between the students of Camosun College and other queer organizations
in the community, and a great hangout for all students with queer-positive
attitudes. It is a place for making connections, making community, and
making change.
Beyond these services, the Pride Centre is also committed to raising
awareness of Queer, Transgendered, Bisexual, Gay and Lesbian issues,
combating homophobia, transphobia and bi-phobia on campus, in Victoria and
beyond.
